There is a spider somewhere on this page. It is very shy. It also knows things.

Why this exists

My friend Colleen, also known as CollyWobbles, also known as CollyWobbs, shared Mother Mother with me and now I can’t stop. This page is a thank-you, and a reason to put a ghost in a browser for Halloween.

Mother Mother are a band from Vancouver who make theatrical, harmony-stacked, slightly haunted indie rock. If this is your first time, here are a few more doors to knock on:

The Haunted Rack

Four instruments from the Darklabs bench. Each one has something wrong with it. Sound only starts when you play.

Computer keys: A S D F G H J K L ; (focus the rack first). All in A minor, because of course.

The Arcade of the Dead

Three very old ideas, each one haunted.

Little hauntings

The ghost is shy. Move towards it and it will politely drift away and fade, which feels fitting. Tap or press Enter on it for a gentle fright. Everything here is slow and flash-free, and it all stops if your device is set to reduce motion.

Ten things are hidden on this site. A spider keeps the clues, if you can catch it.
